More practice with the tablet. And not colored because I can't color for ----. (Otherwise, I'd be tempted to submit this to either

, just to prove that I don't just write fluff.)

I had originally meant for this to be a companion picture to "1 More Chance!" My inspiration (that sounds conceited: me inspiring myself) was the scene on the steps in Chapter 6 ("Kung Fu Queen" [link]) ... except the scene doesn't exactly happen this way. And she wasn't wearing her track jacket, and he wasn't wearing his gakuran and those headphones, so... Yeah.

Whatever. Practice is practice, right?

Oddly, the one part of this picture of which I'm really proud, though, is the smoosh of Yousuke's nose against Chie's forehead.

For some reason, I just love that.

Even before reading your comments, I'd mentally remarked on the nose-smoosh. It's all very natural looking. (Jealous. One problem I always have with pictures where people are hugging, kissing, etc, is making them too stiff.) They look very real here, both physically and emotionally.

I go by Mayumi, too, but Bonus is fine.

Thank you! I do love the anime/manga style - and I've tried my hand at it - but sometimes I just gravitate toward a more realistic stroke. I'm glad that you like it.

And I'm so glad that so many viewers enjoy the nose...! That is definitely my favorite part of it.

This'll sound so totally weird
but for some reason this piece is really memorable to me because of Yosuke's squishy nose

I remember glancing over it a couple of days ago, i'm afraid i didn't pay much attention though (SORRY D: )
and then i came across another picture of two people kissing and i just thought of that picture that was really good because it had a squishy nose and that it was really realistic. Now i cruise back through here by accident and i've found you agaiiiiin
so i found the squishy nose picture, i've looked at it properly and i love it very much

No, I totally understand that - it's my favorite part of the drawing, too! I'm actually very happy that some of my fellow deviants here are enjoying this piece, especially since I don't draw very often anymore.

There is something kind of romantic about that smooshed nose...I still love it best of the whole picture.
